If you are an aspiring genealogist and are looking for some great web sites to help you build your family tree, here is a list of links to some of our favorite web sites:
Family Search - This web site is hosted by the Church of Latter Day Saints. Records available here are free for your use.
Ancestry - The "Number One" genealogy web site on the 'net. [This site has some free provisions, but will require payment for complete access.]
Footnote - Access to many of the National Archive and Records Administration microfilm copies. Some free access, but payment is required for unlimited access.
Rootsweb - A free web site. Great message boards and access to numerous areas of research.
Dead Fred - Excellent photograph site. Listing many photographs from around the globe. Site is free to access, and free to post on.
GenCircles - Free web sitewith trees to access. You may be able to find some research for your family tree already performed!
Find A Grave - Free access to records of cemeteries around the world. Some have photographs of the stones. Free to submit your own photos and listings as well.
World Vital Records - This pay for use site is excellent. Many historical newspapers. Easy to navigate through.
My Family - Hosts family websites for sharing genealogy, photos and more.
Family Trees - Free access to family trees posted. Also an excellent message board system for helps and discussion.
GenCircles - Upload and share your family trees!
My Heritage - Focuses on Genealogy building and communicating.
Genealogy Today - Genealogy Today includes instruction, reference articles, and includes some unique data collections.
Access Genealogy - A website that includes references to helpful articles, especially for Native American information, and some data.
Ellis Island - Database of passenger lists that is free to search. Actual passenger list images can be purchased.
Cyndis List - A huge website dedicated to cataloguing genealogy website links.
Interment - Transcribed and indexed cemetery inscriptions.
